EU-landene ligger i de afgørende forhandlinger om en undtagelse for uddannelsesinstitutioners kopiering af litterære tekster og læremidler. I 2018 udbetalte Copydan Tekst og Node 350 mio. kroner i kopivederlag til forlag og ophavsmænd, penge som er af afgørende vigtighed for skaberne og for den fremtidige produktion af læremidler. Den europæiske forlæggerforening (FEP) har derfor startet en underskriftsindsamling, som du og dine kolleger meget gerne må underskrive og videresende i dit netværk:
“We are committed to enabling teachers, pupils and students to use extracts of publications in the context of their educational activities, while respecting creators. We support the remuneration of authors, visual artists and publishers for uses of their works.. Depriving them of legitimate revenues would unbalance the creative ecosystem and jeopardise the production of diverse, quality content. The “Illustration for teaching exception” in article 4 of the proposed Directive to reform EU copyright law should ensure a fair and balanced framework, which is in the interest of both users and rights holders. Europe needs to support the sustainability of innovative, diverse and local content to ensure the best education possible for future generations.”
